This third entry in my multilingual website creation diary will discuss servers.

The server is the most important aspect of website creation!

Using Amazon AWS servers allows for a year of free server operation.

Since multilingual websites aren't solely for Korean users, server speed is crucial. Free plans are limiting because AI-powered translation is surprisingly resource-intensive. Slow translation could lead to indexing requests before translation is complete. (I'll cover API settings later!) This can result in duplicate page requests, and repeated occurrences might lead Google to misinterpret the website as a spam site with excessive duplicate content. This prevents indexing, reduces visitor numbers, discourages Google bot visits, further hindering indexing, creating a vicious cycle. Therefore, server speed is paramount! I recommend cloud servers. (CDN explanation will be in the final section!)

Google Cloud also offers around \$300 in credits for new users. Think of it as similar to Amazon's free year-long server offer. \$300 might seem like a considerable sum (around 450,000 KRW at the current exchange rate), but Google Cloud servers are expensive.

I'm not sure of the exact cost, but I estimate... durumis pays at least 59,000 KRW per month for server costs!

On the other hand, Hostinger servers are very affordable. Around 160,000 KRW per year. The biggest advantage is its dashboard. File manager and databases allow easy management. (No need for FileZilla)

It also offers unlimited free SSL, and easy site duplication through free migration! It provides basic DDOS protection, and Cloudflare protection secures nameservers. Daily backups are also performed! (Restoration is possible in case of problems!!) Free CDN is also provided. Most importantly, Hostinger is easy enough for someone like me, who lacks server knowledge, to build a website independently. If you encounter server configuration problems, you can request assistance from their 24/7 support staff.

Ultimately, with sufficient skill and confidence, the choice doesn't matter, but since I lack that skill, I chose Hostinger!!
