Multilingual Website Creation Diary - Day 3: Choosing a Translation Plugin

The core of the durumis homepage is its AI translation system. For a multilingual homepage to truly shine, translation functionality is paramount.

The durumis developers are skilled enough to have implemented it directly without a translation plugin... but...

Actually, it's a bit ambiguous. It's hard to say we "developed" it ourselves, since it incorporates a Google program. I'm not sure whether this should be considered development or simply application. However, by my standards, it's not something just anyone can easily do, and it's something I can't do, so I'll call it development.

I lack the skills and time, so I'm going to buy and install a translation plugin. There are countless plugins on the market.

The homepage shown in the image above is a site I discovered while searching for various things to create a translation plugin homepage. In fact, this site is also operated as a multilingual homepage.

My usual method of purchasing items prioritizes "value for money" and the number of buyers (subscribers). Assuming the above statistics are accurate..., I plan to install all three plugins: WPML, Translate Press, and GTranslate, and try them out myself. I'll test them during the free trial period before making a selection.

Another crucial aspect of implementing a multilingual homepage is how to manage the domain name. Actually, if I operate it using both methods for about a year, I'll get a good feel for it. But since I don't have the time... I'll ask my expert friend.
